Trama:Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Runners 5D’s è la terza serie di Yu-Gi-Oh! e come le precedenti serie, si concentra attorno a personaggi che giocano a Duel Monsters. In quest’ultimo cartone animato nipponico, oltre ai tradizionali duelli col Dueling Disk, alcuni duellanti si sfidano su particolari moto-dueling disk, chiamate “D-Wheel” e questi duellanti prendono il nome di “D-Wheeler”. Il protagonista è Yusei Fudo, un ragazzo del Satellite, la metà povera e sfruttata della lussuosa Nuova Domino. Fugge nella ricca città per cercare la libertà della sua gente e trovare Jack Atlas, il Re dei Duelli Turbo, nonché vecchio amico che lo ha tradito rubandogli la Duel Runner e la carta Drago Polvere di Stelle, la quale rappresentava l’unica possibilità per Yusei ed i suoi amici di lasciare il Satellite. La rivalità fra i due ex-alleati si risolve con una vittoria del giovane Fudo nella Fortune Cup, un torneo organizzato da Rex Goodwin, il direttore di Nuova Domino, per radunare i predestinati (Yusei, Jack, Akiza e Luna) ed accertarne l’identità. I predestinati portano sul braccio il segno del Drago Cremisi, una creatura che veniva venerata dall’antico popolo delle Stelle e che li ha scelti per salvare il mondo. Riunitisi, i quattro ragazzi devono affrontare i predestinati oscuri, eletti dalle ombre, che vogliono risvegliare il re degli inferi e far sprofondare la Terra nel suo mondo.
